Dear Students, Families, Staff, and Community Members,

I am deeply honored and humbled to serve as your Interim Superintendent. It is with genuine excitement that I join this district and community, and I look forward to partnering with you in support of our shared mission: ensuring the success, growth, and well-being of every student we serve.

As a retired educator from New Jersey, I bring with me a lifelong commitment to public education and a deep appreciation for the impact that strong schools have on individuals, families, and communities. Over the course of my career, I have had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles, teacher, vice principal, principal, and assistant superintendent, each of which has strengthened my belief that education is both a responsibility and an opportunity to shape the future. Those experiences have reinforced my dedication to fostering environments where students are challenged, supported, and inspired every day.

In addition to my work in schools and districts, I have had the opportunity to serve as a coach of leaders. Supporting and developing administrators and aspiring leaders has been some of the most meaningful work of my career. I believe that strong leadership at every level is essential to building and sustaining effective school systems. I am committed to cultivating leadership capacity across this district and creating opportunities for individuals to grow, lead, and make a positive impact.

I also consider myself a lifelong learner. I approach this role with curiosity, openness, and a commitment to continuous growth. I value reflection, collaboration, and learning alongside others, and I believe that when we model a commitment to learning, we inspire the same in our students.

Equally important to me is the role of mindfulness, wellness, and sustainability in education. In today’s fast-paced and often demanding environment, it is essential that we prioritize the well-being of both students and staff. Mindfulness practices can help foster focus, resilience, and a sense of balance, while a strong emphasis on wellness supports the social, emotional, and physical health of our school community. Sustainability, both in how we care for our environment and how we structure our work, ensures that our efforts are thoughtful, enduring, and supportive over time. I believe that when we attend to these elements, we create healthier, more effective learning environments where everyone can thrive.

Curriculum and instruction has always been at the heart of my work and remain a true passion of mine. I believe that a strong, thoughtfully designed curriculum, paired with excellent teaching, creates the foundation for meaningful learning experiences. As we move forward together, our goals will be firmly grounded in data, ensuring that our decisions are informed, strategic, and responsive to the needs of our students.

Equally important is our commitment to alignment. The work we undertake across the district will be cohesive and intentional, with every initiative and effort centered on one core purpose: serving our students. When we are aligned in our vision and actions, we are better positioned to provide equitable opportunities and positive outcomes for all learners.

I also recognize the vital role that relationships and collaboration play in the success of a school district. I am eager to listen, learn, and engage with students, staff, families, and community members. Your voices, perspectives, and experiences are essential as we continue to build on the strengths of this district and identify opportunities for growth.

In the weeks and months ahead, I am committed to being present, accessible, and responsive. Together, we will celebrate successes, address challenges, and remain focused on what matters most: creating a supportive, high-quality educational experience for every student.
