This is an important update to yesterday's message regarding a rumored
threat against Dodd Middle School.
The Freeport Police and Nassau County Police Departments have identified
the individuals responsible for the TikTok threat against Dodd Middle School.
The police confirmed that the rumor was not a credible threat as there
were no means or intent to carry it out and that it was a social media prank perpetrated
by two Dodd students.
The District and the police take actions of this nature very seriously
and appropriate actions will be taken.
We encourage you to speak to your children about the appropriate use of
social media and the
importance of saying something to a trusted adult should they see or hear anything
that raises concerns.
The safety and health of our school community is our highest priority, and
we will continue to monitor the security in all our buildings. The District

work during this investigation.
