The Atkinson community extends its sincere gratitude to all staff members and students who helped create a successful Black History Month celebration at the districtwide program on Feb. 25. The artwork of Ms. Barry's and Ms. Hertzberg's students is a remarkable testament to their talents and the level of instruction they receive. Dr. Thomas directed the sixth-grade chorus, which performed a beautiful rendition of "Glory." The students delivered an inspirational and engaging performance for the audience, who showed their appreciation with numerous standing ovations. Soloists Dylan De Bourg, Michelle Canela Hernandez, Ryan Francois, Carla Garcia and Eric Peralta sang in precision and harmony. Atkinson is proud of all of its students, who continue to represent the school well in all of their endeavors.
