New Visions School students presented the gift of holiday cheer to classmates, families, staff and school administrators with the day and evening performances of their annual Winter Festival of the Arts.
The program began when the school band, directed by Glenn Koski, opened the concert with a trio of holiday songs, including James Lord Pierpont's classic "Jingle Bells."
Siblings James (first grade) and June Cumento (third grade) followed with piano solos. James performed Beethoven's "Ode to Joy," while June played Martha Mier's "Just Struttin' Along."
Lynn Albrecht's kindergartners and Jodi DiSpigno's first-graders marched in and performed Teresa Jennings' "If I Could Fly Like a Snowflake."
They were followed by the school chorus, directed by Ruth Breidenbach, who performed three songs, including Michael and Jill Gallina's "Christmas Cookies" with accompaniment from the select orchestra, directed by Catherine Beck.
The show wrapped up with the honors choir's festive renditions of Mike Wilson's "We Sing Gloria" and Greg Gilpin's "Fun, Fun, Fun." As an added holiday treat, student artwork, selected by art teacher Susan Johnson, was on display in the lobby for all to admire.
