At the Board of Education's meeting on Wednesday, October 20th, at the Bayview Avenue School, over 100 members of the school community turned out to honor the members of the Freeport Board of Education on the occasion of School Board Recognition Week.
The President of the PTA Council along with the Presidents of several of the District bargaining units came to the podium to thank the Board for all they do to support Freeport's fine educational program. Adding to the occasion were Bayview children who performed a creative rendition of How Sweet It Is to be Loved by You for the Board members.
Speaking on behalf of the District and all those present, Dr. Kishore Kuncham, the Superintendent of the Freeport Schools, addressed the Board. "Mrs. Mcquillan, Mrs. Mule, Mr. Ellerbe, Ms. Pineyro & Mr. Pomerico, on behalf of the community, the children of Freeport, and the cabinet, we salute you for your hard work, the personal sacrifices that you make, and your tireless advocacy for students and education." said Kuncham. "We thank you for everything you do for the children of Freeport."
