Welcome Message from Our Superintendent

Dear Freeport Public Schools Community,

It is with a heart full of gratitude, hope, and excitement that I write to you today.

I am honored to continue serving as your Superintendent of Schools and to join you in the important work of moving the Freeport Public Schools forward. As we begin this new chapter together, I do so with an unwavering belief in the strength of our community, the extraordinary potential of our students, and the dedication of the educators, staff, families, and community members who make this district so special.

I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to our Board of Education for its commitment to collaboration, thoughtful governance, and keeping students at the center of every decision. I look forward to working in true partnership with the Board as we continue building a district that reflects the hopes and aspirations of the entire Freeport community.

Freeport Public Schools has a proud legacy of excellence, resilience, and community pride. Together, we have an opportunity to elevate that legacy even further—to restore what makes us strong, reclaim the joy that should be present in every classroom and workplace, and strengthen the love and pride that have always defined Freeport. Our collective work will be guided by respect, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to our children.

As we prepare for the opening of the 2026–2027 school year, our focus is clear. Together, we will dedicate ourselves to educating every child to the highest standards, ensuring the safety and well-being of every student, supporting and developing the exceptional adults who serve our schools each day. Great schools are built through strong partnerships, and I look forward to listening, learning, and working alongside all of you as we continue to move our district forward.

Over the coming weeks, our leadership team, principals, teachers, and support staff will be working diligently to ensure that every school is ready to welcome students on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. We are committed to providing safe, joyful, engaging, and inspiring learning environments where every student feels valued, challenged, and supported from the very first day of school.

There is much to celebrate, and there is important work ahead. I am confident that by working together—with purpose, compassion, and a shared commitment to excellence—we will continue to write the next great chapter in the history of Freeport Public Schools.

Many of you have greeted me with simple but powerful words: “Welcome Back” and “Welcome Home.” Those words have touched me deeply, and I receive them with profound gratitude.

Today, I extend that same sentiment to each of you.
