Dear Freeport Families,
It is time for us to welcome the long, relaxing days of summer. The 2021-2022 school year brought us challenges still due to the pandemic, but we stayed the course and it was an amazing year filled with accomplishments. There were many adjustments in protocols along the way, but your continued flexibility along with your ability to prioritize what is best for our children, allowed them to thrive. During this well-deserved summer break, I hope you set your focus on renewing your spirits and revitalizing your energy, seeing family and friends, and pursuing the things that bring unparalleled joy to your lives.
Once again, despite the challenges of restrictions for most of this year, our students have risen to the top in academics, athletics and the arts earning numerous awards and recognitions. Our students have continued to make gains and our graduation rate reflects this. Beyond the academics, our on-going support of the mental health and well-being of our students has made the change for all. Together, we are truly Changemakers who have transcended the challenges we have faced for the past few years and created a welcoming, supportive environment.
Our graduating Seniors are moving on to their post-secondary plans knowing we have done our utmost to prepare them. We are thrilled with their many accomplishments and wish them success in their endeavors. We wish our retirees all the best as they move on to the next phase of their lives. Their dedication and devotion to our students and their families is appreciated and we hope their days are filled with all the interests they plan to follow.
The Board of Education and I wish you all a wonderful summer break engaging in fun activities, relaxing, and enjoying time with family and friends. I look forward to seeing you all for the beginning of our next amazing school year together.
