Dodd Students Share Stories for Black History Month
Posted on 02/15/2022

Freeport Public School students at Dodd Middle School are eager to celebrate Black History Month with our elementary school students across the district. The school's Diversity Equity and Inclusion/Cultural Celebration Committee helped to organize an event where students volunteered to record stories for students in the Freeport elementary schools. The recorded stories were either written by black authors or contain black protagonists and include the ABC´s of Black History by Rio Cortez, Share Some Kindness, Bring Some Light by Apryl Stott and Henry's Freedom Box by Ellen Levine. The students and staff at Dodd are eager to share their recordings with the Freeport community and inspire a love of reading.
