Caroline G. Atkinson's Future Problem Solvers Team, under the direction of Mary-Kate Robinson, competed in the New York State Bowl Junior Division and won third place overall. The State Bowl included the topic "Future Scene which asked students to discuss mining and how closing mines in the future can have a ripple effect of unintended consequences on the communities in which they are located and beyond.

"I was so impressed by this particular team's ability to adapt and ultimately succeed, even when facing adversity." said Atkisnon ELA teacher and Future Problem Solvers advisor Mary-Kate Robinson. "Unexpectedly, one member had to be out of the country on the day of the State Bowl, and Dylenne Tavares stepped in at the last minute, filled the void, and the team triumphed, earning third place."

Congratulations to team members Andrelis Gutierrez Castro, Maya Figueroa, Charli Oswald, and Dylenne Tavares.
