Freeport Select Chorale’s virtual performance featured live on Boston Celtics game
Posted on 02/19/2021

The Freeport High School Select Chorale's first virtual performance of the national anthem was recently aired live at the NBA Boston Celtics vs. Washington Wizards game.

The Select Chorale, under the direction of Ms. Monique Retzlaff, each recorded and uploaded their own part of "The Star Spangled Banner" with specific guidelines. The individual videos were then synchronized and combined into a single performance to create the Select Chorale's first virtual performance.

"Since we are unable to gather as a full ensemble due to the pandemic, it was my goal to give this fine ensemble an opportunity to experience what a virtual performance entails, as well as continuing to share their talents with our audiences," said Ms. Monique Retzlaff, director. "In addition, we are so proud to share this first virtual performance on a national level and look forward to live performances in the future."

The Freeport High School Select Chorale has performed on the national level at Madison Square Garden, MetLife Stadium, CitiField, and the Barkclays Center for the NFL, MLB, and the NBA multiple times under Ms. Retzlaff's 13 years as director.
