Dear Dodd Families,
We have been made aware of a potential threat for this coming Friday made against Dodd Middle School through TikTok. Both nationally and locally, there have been recent reports regarding unsubstantiated threats through social media against schools.
We immediately shared this information and are working closely with the Freeport Police Department and Nassau County Police Department on this matter. While the investigation is ongoing, the police have determined that this does not appear to be a credible threat at this time.
Please use this opportunity to speak with your child about the importance of saying something to a trusted adult should they see or hear anything that raises concerns.
The health and safety of our students and school community are always our highest priorities. We will continue to be vigilant in our security measures to ensure the safety of our children and staff. We will keep you posted about any further developments.
