High school students were in high spirits as they received a visit from two furry friends from the Therapy Dogs of Long Island. Barbie, a Golden Doodle, and Pumpkin, a Shichon, made their rounds to each student and brought smiles to their faces.
The goal is to use the connection between dogs and humans as a therapeutic method. By bringing the dogs to school districts, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, colleges, veteran associations, the organization helps alleviate stress in others and evoke joy.
The visit was a huge success and kept students elevated throughout the day.
