Third-graders in Jennifer Skelly's music class at Archer Street celebrated Constitution Day by singing "We the People," a song about the preamble.
As part of the harmonious activity, Skelly led the students on a line-by-line analysis of the song, defined key words and contextualized the lyrics to the Constitution. Students learned not only about why there is a day dedicated to the nation's founding document, but also how it plays a role in protecting freedoms.
