High school science department chairperson Peggy Parigoris has been accepted to the Science Coaches program, an educational outreach initiative jointly sponsored by the American Association of Chemistry Teachers and the American Chemical Society.
As part of the program, Parigoris will be working with Hofstra University professor Ling Huang to incorporate the New York State Science Learning Standards into chemistry lessons and presentations, enhancing the academic rigor of the chemistry curriculum. She also received a $550 Flinn Scientific Gift Certificate, which will be used to further aid the school's science program.
The district extends its congratulations to Parigoris and commends her for helping to maintain a rigorous and enriching science curriculum.
