Hooray for a Hundred Days
Posted on 02/25/2016

Kindergartners at Columbus Avenue celebrated their 100th day of school with a variety of fun and educational singalongs and art activities related to the number 100.

With Assistant Superintendent for Personnel Dr. Mary Bediako, Director of Grants, Funded Programs and Student Achievement Dr. Harold Dean and Director of Arts Ruth Breidenbach in attendance, the students recited poems and sang songs to demonstrate their knowledge of numbers up to 100. Under the leadership of their teachers, the kindergartners - wearing crowns they created - also danced with their peers and marched in a line while displaying colorful "100 Day" classroom posters.

The 100 Day celebration at Columbus served to commemorate one of the first milestones for students in their academic careers.
