Throughout the month of October, third- and fourth-grade students at Archer have been working with arts-in-education specialists Beth and Scott Bierko on the structure of song development and how it relates to strengthening English language arts skills. As part of the series of lessons, students choose a theme and proceed to write, rehearse and record their class songs in conjunction with the Bierkos' tutorials. Because the lessons are multipronged, students are learning and practicing a variety of skills to complement their curricular studies.
