Dr. Kuncham Awarded Prestigious Honor

As a result of his outstanding leadership, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kishore Kuncham was honored with theSuperintendent of the Year Award at the Somos el Futuro/We Are the Future Conference hosted by the Long Island Hispanic and Black Elected Officials.

Dr. Kuncham is the first Indian-American school superintendent in the history of New York state, and is an outstanding role model who exhibits a passion for excellence in every aspect of his work.

Dr. Kuncham was presented with the honor alongside the Board of Education - President Michael Pomerico, Vice President Anthony Miller, Ronald Ellerbe, Ernest J. Kight Jr., and Vilma Lancaster - by Freeport Village Trustees Carmen Piñeyro and Ronald Ellerbe (also on BOE), and Assemblyman Philip Ramos, who chaired the event.

Congratulations to Dr. Kuncham on a very well-deserved honor that is a testament to his remarkable work and leadership!
