Archer Visits Zoo Virtually
Posted on 01/16/2015

Students in Kristen Boshko's first-grade class at Archer culminated their penguin unit with a virtual trip to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.

The videoconference gave students the opportunity to learn new information and demonstrate what they had learned about penguins. They saw live penguins, asked and answered questions, and compared themselves to the tuxedo-clad birds. The students prepared for the interactive lesson by using several databases to conduct research, including PebbleGo, World Book Online Encyclopedia and Discovery Streaming.
