Winter Sights and Holiday Sounds at Giblyn
Posted on 12/10/2015

Prior to the holiday break, Giblyn hosted a Winter Festival of the Arts and exhibited the talents of its students on stage.

The students worked diligently to create remarkable works of art and compelling renditions of holiday tunes to showcase to their families, peers and school staff members. Under the leadership of chorus director Shannon Abramovitz, orchestra director Catherine Beck, band director Glenn Koski and visual arts teacher Susan Warren, students performed a medley of songs and proudly displayed their artwork. The beautiful songs and artwork reflected months of practice that the students dedicated to perfecting their talents.

The band ensemble performed "Jingle Bells" and "Good King Wenceslas," the chamber orchestra performed "Jolly Old St. Nicholas" and "Winter Wonderland," the chorus performed "Somewhere In My Memory," "Hot Chocolate," "Winter Wonders" and "Steppin' Out With Santa." A slideshow of students' artwork was presented for all to enjoy. Students also spoke about "Holiday Lights Around the World."

Giblyn's Winter Festival of the Arts served as a holiday-themed forum for the school to highlight the harmonious and artistic skills of its students.
