Giblyn Supports the Ride for Life
Posted on 12/03/2015

Students and staff at Giblyn displayed their support for the fight against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), as a member of the Ride for Life organization visited the school to discuss the neurological disorder.

The assembly, which was held for fourth-graders, featured messages of hope and perseverance for students. Paul Weisman, a member of the Ride for Life group that travels throughout the country to raise funds for ALS research, spoke to students about his life as a patient and about his resolve to continue fighting. The program was comprised of a video of the Ride for Life's various journeys, a historical overview of the degenerative illness, and opportunities for students to ask questions of Paul.

Giblyn annually hosts visits from the Ride for Life organization as a way to show its unwavering support for the cause, and for its students to learn the importance of charitable donations and never giving up.
