New Visions welcomes animals for PARP kickoff
Posted on 12/09/2014

Students at New Visions received a visit from animal educator and author Erik Callender for their Parents As Reading Partners (PARP) program kickoff event.

Callender, who has authored a book about the children and wildlife of Madagascar titled Madagascar Live, brought in a variety of reptiles and amphibians to show to students. Students were able to touch many of the animals, which included an iguana, turtle, frog, alligator and snakes. They were also introduced to a group of children in Madagascar through a live Skype video call.

Callender spoke about the importance of reading and encouraged students to follow their dreams.
