The students of John W. Dodd Middle School will enter the global community through a pen pal program that links our Freeport students with students in Africa. Under the direction of Ms. Kavazanjian, Mrs. Saunders, and Ms. Paschette, the students will connect with students from the Tumaini Junior School in Karatu, Tanzania. This project will create a climate of empathy and compassion for people in different economic, cultural and emotional situations. Students will correspond with their global friends via email and Skype. We hope to foster a spirit of global awareness that will warm the hearts of our students.
