Fourth-grade students at Archer Street School stood before proud family members and invited guests as they celebrated a milestone in their academic careers during their moving-up ceremony.

Congratulations and words of advice were given by Archer Street Principal Paula R. Lein, Assistant Principal Mary Garguilo and guest speaker Nicholas Ashe. Nicholas, himself a former Archer Street student, is currently a senior at Freeport High School and has starred in the Lion King on Broadway and will be in the Choir Boys beginning soon.

This important event was also attended by Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kishore Kuncham, Councilwoman Dorothy Goosby and Comptroller George Margos. Special recognition awards were presented to several students and to guidance counselor Nicholas Angelo. As the ceremony came to an end, there was a shared sense of pride among the students and those who came to celebrate with them.
