Everyone at Archer Street School has benefitted from her expertise and commitment.

Ms. Bergen has implemented her knowledge of the new Common Core Learning Standards and has become an important resource for both students and teachers. In this ever-changing world of educational reform, Ms. Bergen has demonstrated that the role of the librarian is critical to the success of all students. Ms. Bergen also facilitates professional staff development sharing her expertise in many areas. Distance learning has also become a regular part of the library program with students participating in over thirty videoconferences a year. As part of the Data Inquiry Team, Ms. Bergen has also created an Independent Inquiry Research program to work with more advanced students to further their academic growth.

Ms. Bergen has been the recipient of the Best Buy Grant that provided funding for additional technology for use in the library and a school district grant that was used to bring "Bucket Filler" author Carol McCloud to Archer Street School, which greatly helped support the Character Education program. She has also been instrumental in several successful fundraising efforts supporting such organizations as the Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity.
