Archer Street Winter Music Festival of the Arts
Posted on 12/12/2013

Fourth-graders at Archer Street School entertained parents, teachers and classmates with their wide range of talents in the orchestra, band and chorus for the annual Winter Music Festival of the Arts.

The show opened with Joseph Compello's arrangement of the traditional musical skit "Aunt Rhodie's Appetite," featuring performances by the band, directed by Justin Friedman, the orchestra, directed by Christina Giaquinto, and comically costumed actors acting out one entertaining tale about the struggles of preparing for a holiday feast.

That was followed by the chorus, nearly 120 voices strong and directed by Jennifer Skelly, performing three holiday favorites: Jill Gallina's "Winter Fantasy," Dick Smith and Felix Bernard's "Winter Wonderland," and Johnny Marks' classic "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer."
