Bayview Avenue Elementary School welcomed back five former students who ranked in the top 10 of the graduating class of 2013 at Freeport High School to speak with current fourth-grade students. The intention was to encourage the younger students to establish specific goals for future success. This marked the second consecutive year in which five of the top 10 graduating seniors were from Bayview Avenue.
The invitees were valedictorian Elizabeth Mulé, Brittany Gardner (4), Nicholas Brown (6), Lauren Workman (9) and Orlando Flores (10). Mulé also served as the keynote speaker for Bayview Avenue's moving up ceremony.
The highly ranked high school students rotated through two 40-minute sessions that kept their audience entertained and informed of what to expect as they advance through Atkinson Intermediate School, J.W. Dodd Middle School and Freeport High School over the next eight years.
