For the fourth year in a row, the students of the New Visions School of Exploration and Discovery came out on top in the Freeport Memorial Library's Summer Reading Club Challenge, having read a total of 548 books over the summer. The school was awarded a trophy and certificate by Freeport Memorial Library Director Ken Bellafiore during a special assembly.

"Congratulations. A total of 548 books were read by 48 New Visions students," reported Bellafiore in his presentation.

As part of the ceremony, two students were acknowledged as having read the greatest number of books for their school. They are Karina Rios with 82 and her younger brother Jonathan, who logged 56 books. "I love reading because it is fun and enjoyable," Karina told her schoolmates.

"Working together, we were able to achieve this accomplishment," said New Visions school librarian Mimi Bino.
