Freeport Schools Receive Limited Edition Portraits
Posted on 06/04/2012

Thanks to the generosity of Diane Vachier, the Freeport School District is the recipient of eight magnificent "limited edition" portraits of Abraham Lincoln, made by famous American pop artist Steve Kaufman. These portraits, which have a total value of approximately $8,000, were titled by the artist "Abraham Lincoln: Portrait of an Achiever". "On behalf of the Board of Education, myself and our students and staff, I would like to thank you for your unique and generous donation to the Freeport Schools," stated Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kishore Kuncham. "We will treasure these beautiful portraits that I am certain will inspire all who view them."

Abraham Lincoln was known as a great leader and an achiever, but also as one who never allowed failure to deter him from accomplishing his goals. The portraits will be prominently displayed in each school in the Freeport School District for students to enjoy and as a reminder that through determination great things are possible.
