“Spaghetti and Meatballs”
Posted on 06/12/2011

The Columbus Avenue kindergarten children in the four Dual Language classes worked throughout the school year to create a sculpture entitled, "Spaghetti and Meatballs." The sculpture was created under the direction of Susan Warren, their art teacher, with the funding provided by the District's mini grants that were awarded last year. The meatballs and accompanying silverware were fabricated from paper mache, the plate was constructed out of painted wood, and the spaghetti was composed of painted rope. The classroom teachers read, "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" by Judi Barrett to their children for inspiration. The sculpture will be on exhibit for a week beginning, June 13th at the Freeport Memorial Library.
