Freeport Makes Strides Against Breast Cancer
Posted on 10/16/2010

In observance of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Freeport School District conducted two walks to benefit the fight against breast cancer. The first walk was held during the Freeport Teachers Association's Family Fun Day on October 16th, during which many high school teams and clubs walked to raise money. The second fundraiser was held on October 17th as part of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Jones Beach. Dr. Kishore Kuncham, Superintendent of Schools, joined approximately 50 staff members from the Freeport School District who gathered to raise awareness and monies to benefit the cause. While money is still being collected, in previous years the district has raised between $7,000 and $10,000.
