Principal Honored with Town of Hempstead Pathfinder Award

Paula R. Lein, Principal of Archer Street School in Freeport, was named a 2011 recipient of the Town of Hempstead's Pathfinder Award. Each year, the Town of Hempstead celebrates the achievements of outstanding women. During the month of March, nationally recognized as Women's History Month, Hempstead Town's Pathfinder Award is presented to local women who have excelled in their careers, the arts, education, and volunteer activities.

Since joining the Freeport School District in 2000, Mrs. Lein has cultivated a love for learning and an enjoyment of the arts among the students at Archer Street. "Incorporating such programs as ballroom dancing, visual literacy, Tilles Center workshops, and songwriting, Mrs. Lein was honored with the Pathfinder Award at a special ceremony at Hempstead Town Hall on March 8, 2011.
