Freeport High School recently participated in a German Student Exchange Program, in a partnership with Freeport's sister city Waldorf, Germany. The German students arrived in mid-October and were housed in the homes of Freeport High School students where they lived for a week as a member of the host family. The German guests spent the week taking classes with our students, as well as enjoying the sights in New York City and Long Island. Together, they visited such venues as the Fire Island Lighthouse, Central Park, the American Museum of Natural History and Freeport's own Nautical Mile. Most importantly, a strong bond was formed between the students as they experienced these events and learned about one another's culture.
