The Freeport Red Devils were given a heroes dinner after being crowned Long Island Champions and garnering the coveted Rutgers Cup. The Board of Education, district and high school administration came together to heap praise on the football champs. The team was lauded by Superintendent Dr. Kishore Kuncham who awarded each player the special district pin assisted by Coach Russ Cellan and Assistant Superintendent Dr. Mary Bediako.
The Board of Education presented the team a celebratory cake during its meeting which followed.
