Freeport High School to Host Annual College Fair

On Thursday, October 27, starting at 6:00 p.m., Freeport High School will be hosting its annual College Fair and Financial Planning Night. Representatives from more than 150 prestigious colleges and universities will be available to discuss programs and course offerings, scholarship opportunities, the admissions criteria, application deadlines, and campus life. In addition, specialists from the Armed Forces and Military Academies will also be available.

Students in grades 7-12 and their parents will have the unique opportunity to speak with college representatives and receive packets of information from their schools of choice. Financial planning will also be discussed, giving parents valuable information regarding college tuitions, financial aid opportunities and the financial aid application process.

A series of workshops will be offered as well, starting at 6:30 p.m., including: The College Search Process; Financial Aid; Colleges for Students with Learning Disabilities; El Proceso de Admision de la Universidad; Saving for College; Historically Black Colleges; and NCAA and Athletic Scholarships.

All parents and students in grades 7-12 are encouraged to attend this informative and interesting program. Students are asked to bring their student ID cards, as all students will be asked to scan their cards as they enter the building.
