The District's Director of Second Language Programs, Susan Greca, was named Bilingual Administrator of the Year 2012 by the New York State Association for Bilingual Education (NYSABE) in an awards ceremony held in March.

"We are extremely proud of Sue," said Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction Dr. Wafa Westervelt. "This recognition not only highlights the outstanding work that she and the staff have accomplished, but also sheds light on the importance of bilingual education programs, especially given our current global economy."

Ms. Greca was presented with her award at a gathering of her peers in bilingual education at the 35th annual NYSABE conference held in Huntington, NY. "It is wonderful to receive recognition after so many years in the field," said Ms. Greca of her acknowledgment. Her glass commemorative plaque is etched with the words: "In Recognition of Her Leadership, Commitment and Dedication on Behalf of Bilingual Education."
