The Freeport School District will be offering its annual kindergarten registration beginning on Monday, March 4, 2013 at the Central Registry Office located at the Caroline G. Atkinson School, 59 West Seaman Ave., Freeport, N.Y. 11520. Children who will be turning 5 years of age on or before Dec. 1, 2013 are eligible for registration. The Freeport School District is proud to offer a choice of schools through the Magnet Schools Program. Detailed information about the Magnet Schools is contained in the district's Magnet Schools brochure, which is available at the Magnet Schools Office located at Leo F. Giblyn School, 450 S. Ocean Ave., Freeport, N.Y. 11520, 516-867-5260. Parents/guardians are also invited to attend an Open House Day and Exhibit Night at each of the Magnet Schools on Thursday, March 21, 2013, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and 7-8:30 p.m.
If your child is not currently registered in the Freeport School District, you must go to the Central Registry Office Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8:15 a.m. and 3 p.m. and Friday between the hours of 8:15 a.m. and 2 p.m. to register your child. You will need the following documentation and information to register your child:
- Three proofs of residency; for example, a copy of lease or deed, a utility bill, a credit card or bank statement. A P.O. Box is not proof of residency.
- Proof of child's immunization and current physical
- Child's original birth certificate
- Dental certificate
- Parent's photo ID
