Celebrating 100 Days of School
Posted on 02/20/2013

Kindergarten and first grade students at Leo F. Giblyn School never thought the 100th day of school would arrive. Since the first day of school, students have been counting and waiting for this special occasion. The students started the count down by counting by ones and later tens until finally the 100th day of school arrived.

Students participated in several activities to celebrate this milestone in their academic careers. They turned simple noodles into noodle necklaces counting by tens, created celebratory decorations, read books about the 100th day of school and even created a 100 Day Museum, facilitated by Ms. Kelly, math specialist, in the gymnasium for the entire school to view.

"It's a wonderful celebration for our lower grades," stated Amanda Muldowney, principal. "They are able to show-off what they have learned about number sense to the entire school."
