The Freeport Board of Education and administration would like to welcome and congratulate the following administrators who have been appointed by the Board of Education to new positions throughout the district.
The board and administration welcome Gerard Poole as the district's new assistant superintendent for curriculum, effective July 8, 2013. Since 2009, Mr. Poole has served as the assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction in the Valley Stream UFSD 30.
The Board and administration also congratulate Anne-Marie Hudley-Simmons, who was appointed interim principal at the Early Childhood Education Center. Ms. Hudley-Simmons will continue to serve in her current position as interim coordinator of the arts. Danielle Ballard has been appointed assistant principal at John W. Dodd Middle School. Ms. Ballard is currently a teacher at Dodd. Consuelo Velez has been appointed principal of Caroline G. Atkinson School. Ms. Velez is currently serving as the interim principal at Atkinson. These appointments are all effective July 1, 2013.
