The district's administration continued their relationship with The United Way of Long Island and JP Morgan Chase Bank in coordinating a program that distributed 250 backpacks laden with school supplies to students at Caroline G. Atkinson Intermediate School. "We give our deepest appreciation to The United Way of Long Island and JP Morgan Chase Bank for making this possible once again," said Freeport Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kishore Kuncham. "Their providing more than $10,000 worth of backpacks and supplies benefiting 250 students is incredible." Dr. Kuncham also expressed his gratitude to The United Way of Long Island for their support of the Atkinson Community Enrichment Program, an after-school partnership.

Dr. Kuncham, joined by School Board President Debra Mulé, School Principal Connie Velez, school social worker Nina Sasso, and representatives from The United Way of Long Island and JP Morgan Chase Bank, distributed the backpacks.

"We are grateful to JP Morgan Chase Bank and The United Way of Long Island for providing our students with the tools they need to be successful," Mulé added.
