Career Day Shows Dodd Students Pathways to Success
Posted on 04/06/2014

Students at John W. Dodd Middle School were given the chance to consider future career prospects when local professionals visited the school during the annual Career Day.

The visiting volunteers presented their firsthand knowledge in a range of career paths including publishing, law enforcement, fire safety, politics, information technology, banking, sales, film and television production, humanitarian services, medicine, crafts and mechanical repair. The volunteers explained the finer points of their jobs to students, answered questions about educational background and their career choices.

Job-specific equipment of all shapes and sizes helped the visitors descriptively share the interesting things they do. Many spoke anecdotally about their professional experiences and how their strengths in the common core subjects were the foundations of their career choices and advancements.
