Students Lift Holiday Spirits

Students warmed up for their holiday break with a variety of festivities and activities that helped foster smiles and spiritual warmth.

Just prior to their school break, Columbus Avenue Early Childhood Learning Center hosted a school wide pajama day celebration full of learning activities.

A troupe of carolers from Caroline G. Atkinson Intermediate School, directed by Dr. Talonda Thomas, traveled by bus to a local assisted living center, where they brightened spirits with melodic songs from the traditional holiday songbook.

Freeport High School's wind ensemble, directed by Michael LaSorsa, and select chorale, directed by Monique Retzlaff, separately took their shows on the road and spread holiday joy throughout the day as they traveled in the community to numerous places, including the district's elementary schools and the administration building, Freeport Village Hall, the public library, and other locations where they presented a program of familiar holiday songs.
