Fifth- and sixth-grade art students at Atkinson created Valentine's Day cards for war veterans. Under the direction of art teachers Emily Hertzberg and Eleanore Barry, the students volunteered to decorate the cards and wrote messages of support and thanks inside. On Valentine's Day, the cards were delivered to veterans across Long Island.
