Seventh and eighth-grade students at J. W. Dodd Middle School were recognized for their commitment to excellence during two special events. Students in the seventh-grade Honors Research and ELA Skills classes participated in the Freedom Writers Book and Research Celebration and both the seventh and eighth-grade students participated in an academic awards ceremony.
Invited family members listened as students shared their research projects, which were an extension of their classroom lessons. They also enjoyed a student performance featuring singing and dancing followed by a delicious multi-cultural buffet. During the awards ceremony, seventh-grade students were presented with their honor and high-honor roll certificates. Special recognition was given to several eighth-grade students for their academic excellence in several different subject areas.
