Members of the Navy Junior ROTC at the high school showcased poise and pride at the annual inspection and battalion parade.

The 244 students enlisted in the program, established in 2002, performed several drills with precision and passed inspection with flying colors. The event, which was attended by the board of education, Freeport war veterans and proud parents, was designed to honor the outstanding work of cadets and their leaders.

"I am so proud of you for what you do every single day, both in the school and within the community," Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kishore Kuncham said to the cadets. "You are our leaders and a great inspiration to all us, and you are what makes Freeport a powerhouse school district."
