As part of the district's new writing initiative, third- and fourth-graders at New Visions celebrated the publishing of books they wrote with separate parties. The students, who wrote about "small moments," presented their stories to an audience that included Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Gerard Poole, New Visions administrators, teachers and parents. The events served as a way to commemorate students' creation of books featuring their own stories and artwork.
