Within the first month of the 2015-2016 school year, the high school's Select Chorale was invited to showcase its talents in a riveting performance they will remember forever.

Standing proudly at Citi Field prior to the New York Mets' baseball game against the Atlanta Braves, the group performed the national anthem before more than 26,000 fans. Under the leadership of Director Monique Retzlaff, the students performed their harmonious rendition to rousing applause from fans during the anthem's high note before watching the game. The performance was not only a large-scale opportunity for the students to exhibit their own vocal magnificence, but also served as an example of the district's stellar performing arts program.

"For these talented students of mine to have the opportunity to perform the Star-Spangled Banner on a stage like this is a truly memorable experience," said Retzlaff."Their performance was simply breathtaking. I could not be any prouder of them for their commitment to excellence, which was on full display prior to the game."
