FHS Student’s Free Ride to Music Camp

High school student Aaron Anderson received the Nassau Music Educators Association Laurette Schaumloffel Scholarship to the USDAN Summer Camp for the Arts. The full scholarship allows him to to attend the seven-week session from the end of June to the middle of August.

Aaron is a member of the high school's wind ensemble, jazz ensemble, sax quartet and student leader of the percussion ensemble. He is also the head drum major for the school's Red Devils Marching Band.

USDAN Summer Camp for the Arts is the nation's preeminent nonprofit day camp. USDAN has been declared a "Best Of" camp by Time Out New York Kids and by NY Metro Parents in addition to being profiled in feature articles in The New York Times and Time magazine. USDAN's mission is to provide children with the arts as a lifetime companion. This mission is realized through the inspiration of a world-class faculty and the camaraderie of fellow students whose bond is their love of the arts.
