Darwing Mendez, a Barry Tech Digital Design student in the district, earned first place in the 2016 New York Committee for Occupational Safety and Health YouthSafe Poster Contest.
The contest tasked young artists to create and convey a message of workplace safety to fledgling workers and employees. Darwing, who will be a senior in the fall, will have his design distributed on posters to schools throughout the state next year. Mendez has been honing his skills as a student in Doris Aresta's Digital Design class.
The district congratulates Darwing Mendez on the recognition of his fantastic design.
