As part of their ongoing support of the district and their commitment to students' academic enrichment, the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) donated 200 backpacks and school supplies that will benefit community children in need. On behalf of the district, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kishore Kuncham expressed his gratitude to TANA Executive Vice President and President Elect Jayasekhar Talluri, Regional Coordinator - Backpack Community Project Raja Kasukurthi and Regional Vice President Vidyadhar Garapati.
Following the start of the school year, members of TANA visited New Visions School to personally deliver their donations, and were thanked by staff members and students. In addition, Dr. Kuncham presented the members with peace-themed framed artwork as a token of appreciation.
The Rotary Club of Hicksville also donated 100 backpacks to the district and Dr. Kuncham thanked Rotary Club President Dr. Urmilesh Arya for their generosity.
