FHS Select Chorale Dazzles in Radio City Debut
Posted on 12/03/2017

For the first time in its illustrious history, the Select Chorale earned the honor of ushering in the holiday season with a dazzling array of festive performances at the world-famous Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Under the leadership of Director Monique Retzlaff, the group opened its slate of performances on Thanksgiving Eve with "O Thou that Tellest Good Tidings to Zion" from the "Messiah," followed by a spectacular jazz rendition of "O Come, All Ye Faithful," and closed with "Angels We Have Heard on High," which featured its own staccato version of the second verse. Chorale can add this scintillating Christmas Spectacular debut to an all-impressive list of prestigious events and venues where it has showcased its talents, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Westminster Choir College and most recently the Empire State Building.

"To say it is a privilege to be able to lead these amazing vocalists on such grand stages is an understatement," said Retzlaff, who this year was also selected as Nassau County Choral Director for the Parents Educators and Kids Festival Concert. "The honor of performing at Radio City Music Hall is a testament to their unwavering commitment to musical excellence."
